a little autumn wishlist.

autumn wishlist

It’s September.

I can’t begin to tell you how happy this has made me.

I absolutely love average temperatures. Being able to hide away in tights and big jumpers. Stodgy comfort food. I can sit at home at home and watch Bake Off and not feel bad about missing the nice weather. I’m so excited for Autumn!

The best thing is that I can wear as much black as I want to.

And there’s quite a lot of that in this wishlist, like many of the wish lists that have preceded it.

I’m a big fan of black and white polka dot dresses. I’m wearing my favourite one as I sit here and type this. Realistically, it’s probably had a little bit too much wear, and I’ve already had to post it off to my Mum to fix a small hole in the shoulder. So this River Island polka swing dress looks right up my street. I’m not usually one for River Island, so finding something that isn’t a bit OTT can be like finding a needle in a haystack and I’m always pretty impressed when there’s actually something I’d wear hidden away in their stuff. Plus it has sleeves! I’m a big fan of dresses with sleeves – they’re the best bet for work and also the best bet for Autumn. A bit like this Warehouse flute sleeve dress.

I love this New Look longline coat, and I’m on the lookout for another coat. Every year I ask myself if I could ever be brave enough to wear a colourful coat, and if I come to the decision that 2017 is that year, at least this coat comes in a massive variety of colours. I have my eye on the tan version – but I’m always concerned I’ll end up looking like Del Boy in a tan coat.

I’m also considering branching out into a bit of colour this Autumn by experimenting with the colour red. I bought a red cheapy slouch-around-the-house jumper from Primark the other day and it’s so bright and so far it hasn’t been that horrendous. Yep, I know I sound slightly odd, but most of my wardrobe is black and adding in any form of colour can be quite the big step for me. I saw Anna challenging herself to a week without wearing black and watched in awe. I doubt I’d ever be able to manage it! I’m absolutely┬áloving this red leather mini. I lived in my black leather mini last year and it was such a staple in my wardrobe. I’m just a teeny bit concerned I’d end up looking like Liz McDonald.
