this week update nine

This week I’m listening to…

Brand New. I seem to go through phases of listening to this band, even though they always remain one of my favourites. When I go back to listening to them I get 100% addicted to them again. It really is like falling in love with them for the first time. They’re a band that will always bring back a lot of good memories from sixth form and University too, so they’re a nice band to listen to and relive some old memories. Current favourite is Sink. What a song.

This week I’m watching…

Really crap daytime TV. I mentioned last week how I was worried about filling my time at work during recess. It turns out the answer to that conundrum is for me to have a load of crap daytime TV on in the background. Current favourites include Tenable (which is causing office arguments over the last 10 Labour leaders), Tipping Point (because everyone can always answer one question on it) and Cash Trapped (which makes no sense at all).

This week I’m eating…

Far too much food. I’ve seen a lot of old friends recently and it has always revolved around meeting up at a restaurant. I had my first ramen experience at Bone Daddies with a few friends, which I would go back to purely for the yuzu frozen margaritas.

This week I’m feeling…

A bit more positive about everything. After a year of stalling on the job front, I’ve had some good conversations with people and now I have some things in the works. Even though I’m probably getting my hopes up about nothing, this nothing is still more than the nothing I’ve been dealing with for a while if that makes sense.

This week I’m reading…

Laura’s posts on Finland. I went for a day once back when I was 15 and I would her post made me want to go back and experience the country again, for a little bit longer this time! I’m impressed by Nina’s sixth year free from self-harm and the strength that must take, as well as Sophie’s take on why sometimes we need to take a step back on our problems. Finally, I’m loving Allie’s return because her posts are always so incredibly well thought out and always make me want to up my blogging game!

This week I’m enjoying…

Instagram. A little bit of a reversal from last week but stay with me. After getting annoyed with it, I’ve taken a bit of a step back on the whole thing. I’ve decided not to let an app run my life. Gone are scheduled posts and scheduled times and even considering a theme. Instead, I’m just posting whatever I fancy. I’ve also found a new set of filters on A Colour Story (Seasons, FYI) and I’m really enjoying the way they make my photos look. The combination of the two things means that I’m kinda enjoying using the app again. And who cares if I never ever get a million and one followers? It’s just not the end of the world.

This week I’m looking forward to…

Having some time off work. Trust me when I say it’s desperately needed.

What have you been up to?

Best of luck with jobs / future / adult stuff like that!

What did you think of the ramen at Bone Daddies? Everyone seems to rave about it but when I visited I wasn’t entirely convinced on it …
