This week I’m recovering…

From one of the worst hangovers I’ve had in my life. Thanks to a work event, where there was a lot of free alcohol, followed by own stupidity in drinking alcohol I’d bought. Luckily I remained vaguely sober at the work event and the real festivities took place later. When I got into work the next morning, I was greeted by the sight of 12 boxes of ginger biscuits and over 1,000 tea bags. Which I suppose isn’t as odd as it sounds when you find out the work event was run by a big supermarket. It really doesn’t take much more than a bit of alcohol for you to make you feel like you’re getting old.

This week I’m feeling a bit jealous…

One of my friends just got an awesome new job. I’m super chuffed for him. I don’t know anyone who works as hard as he does, or deserves it more. But he’s the last in a long line of many of my friends who’ve got awesome new jobs, while I still feel a little down about my own. One day my turn will come. But I’ll have to really get my thinking cap on about what is next for me!

This week I booked…

My driving test. I’m no where near the actual stage of being able to drive. But I think having a date to work towards will be quite helpful. Learning to drive is one of the things I promised myself I would do this year. I really do just have to get on and do it. Even if that means learning in London, i.e, my worst nightmare.

This week I’ve been wasting my time by…

Playing a lot of The Sims 3. I could pretend I was trying to be grown up by saying that it was because I liked building all the houses it wouldn’t be happening could I afford my own. Really, it’s just because I’m a teeny bit of a sad git.

This week I’ve been investing…

Time in my blog. After moving to WordPress a few weeks ago, I did a smartening up of all my old posts and fixed some broken links. It feels like I’ve started again with the whole thing and I’m much happier with it now.

This week I’m grateful to my Mum…

Who spent an hour on the phone to me when I was a bit upset this week. She is one of my best friends and I don’t know what I’d do without her. When the phone call ended and I apologised for taking up so much of her time, she replied: “what else are Mummy’s for?”.

This week I’m looking forward to…

A trip to York that I have planned for next weekend. I haven’t been in a very long time. When I saw that Virgin were doing a First Class seats sale I knew my time had come. I can’t wait to explore somewhere which is going to be pretty much new to me. And I really do love getting out of London, even if it is only for a weekend.

What have you been up to?
